                 BEHIND THE EASEL
As an artist and art teacher at West Valley Central
School, I have been painting and drawing most of my life.
A lifelong resident of New York, many years have been
spent painting and photographing it's lakes, rivers,
mountains and countryside.

Our frequent camping trips to the Adirondack Mountains
has provided abundant sources of inspiration, as well as
painting material. The high peaks region is a special
place for my on location work, while our camp is made in
Old Forge at Singing Waters. Painting trips from Acadia,
Maine to California's Yosemite Valley have refined
techniques and viewpoints. A plein air painting trip in
Northern Ireland with Timothy Tyler also provided a new
outlook on the painting process. The summer of 2008
included a Philadelphia workshop at Studio Incamminati
under Nelson Shanks and his instructors, one I will return
to this summer as well.

An appreciation of my work has been maintained through
participation in local, regional and national shows. A
recipient of numerous awards, I still value the time spent
painting and working with other artists the most. Time
enjoyed in discussing artworks or painting on location is
the daily reward I appreciate the most. My work has
been featured in American Artist Watercolor Magazine,
brochures and other publications.
New paintings are currently being shown at Earth Arts
Gallery in Ellicottville, NY and at the Moose River Trading
Co.in Old Forge, NY.
